I agree that the fish should not exist, but hey, come on its not the fishes' fault. I have one and he is very entertaining.

The fish may not be natures creation, but unless anybody has super powers, they will be created and sold everywhere. Everyone in the world isn't going to stop buying!!! So I am disgusted by someone who takes it out on the fish  :censored:

I bought mine before I knew that it wasn't a "true" species. Soon after I learned the story and wasn't happy about it, but these fish still exist and should be nurtured.

In my opinion, you're not gonna save the world, so quit b*itching about what people have done, and try to make the best for these fish that DO exist.

Sorry if I offended anyone,

Even though they are hybrids (Mutants is kinda offending to me, since I am a fan of the fish), I still love them. They are full of energy and life. The only ones I will NEVER buy are the unnatural colors; the ones that are injected... those piss me off.

I agree completely, dyeing the fish is very wrong and detrimental to the fish. But come on, how can people criticize the fish? There no different than a bubble eye goldfish or even a neon tetra.

vey nice!!!
what do you think about those tailess, heartshaped parrot fishes?
are they natural?
or is it the work of breeders who cut off the tails?

Wait... they hav TAIL-LESS ONES?! Come on, that is just heartless... to cut off a fish's tail, now that is wrong.

BTW- Beautiful fish! :clapping:

They don't cut off there tail (from what I know), I believe they're just bred that way. I've never seen one in person, but the pics look pretty strange.

Hello to all,

I think that all fish that are man-"engineered" or hybrids shouldn't be purchased, because one way or another the buyer contributes to altering natural paths and also there are so many beautiful fish out there which makes it stupid to go and buy one that has such negative implications for the other fish.
I can understand ignorance but the best way to avoid that is to check before you go out at the hobby. There are varities of hybrids that thin the genetic lines and really cause a lot of problems ( think the Frontosas or cichlids to name some strands).
Aqua hobby is a wonderful experience, but it is a responsiblity for all of us also.

How is creating the Parrot cichlid affecting anything outside of the aquarium? They are sterile... won't breed, and never will.
